Vodacom Stormers coach Rassie Erasmus today announced the signing of ex New Zealand flyhalf Tony Brown for the 2008 Vodacom Super 14 season.

“Flyhalf is a crucial position in the side. Tony has a record that speaks for itself. A prolific points scorer, who has had success in three different countries and has played at the highest level for New Zealand, he brings a wealth of talent and experience to the side. We will be using his services to grow and nurture our undoubted home talent whilst also playing for the Vodacom Stormers,” said Erasmus. “We are very excited to have him on-board.”

‘Tony is currently playing for the Sanyo Wild Knights in Japan and depending on how well they do in their league, he will join us at the latest for our overseas leg of the tournament,” added Erasmus.

Commenting on his signing through his SA agent James Adams of Global Sports Management, Tony Brown added, “I have always admired the way the Stormers have played. There are exciting times ahead at the Stormers with the appointment of Rassie as coach and I’m looking forward to playing and sharing my knowledge and experience, in a team with great young talent and potential.”
